Besides the often cited cornerstone written in greek with classic, still visible in the wall of the medieval castle, are noteworthy other archaeological finds unearthed in the area of Bovalino.

Built on an artificial terrace overlooking the sea, stood at an impressive Kaulon Doric temple, part of a larger sanctuary. Temple, dating from the second half of the fifth century BC, are now visible stand, altars and steps.

The ancient mines Pazzano represent an important heritage, whose protection and use, together with other important examples of the region, has invested the Living Museum of the Forges and foundries Calabria (created in 1982).

The greek-roman theater of Locri (now in the district Pirettina) was probably built in the mid-fourth century BC, taking advantage of the presence of a natural slope. Modernized in Roman times, had a capacity of over 4,000 seats.
